I go on walks quite often in our neighborhood, a by-product of dog ownership, and each house I pass by I admire the craftsmanship of the front doors. There is something very satisfying about a hand made door; maybe its the heft of a solid wood frame and panel, the crisp details of the molding framing each of its parts, or the shape of an arch top jamb and door.

Nabil,
ReplyDeleteAre you doing any weather stripping on the door? I'm assuming it is an exterior door. If so, how are you doing it. I need to stop by a local door shop and see if I can glean anything for bits needed for that. Love the door!
Hi Vic, yes there will be weather stripping inside of the overlapping rabbet where the door divides, a rubber weatherseal which is stapled in. There is a spring steel bronze in the jamb and will see if that will remain after the door is fit.
